What is new

A running record of features, improvements, and fixes. Significant releases get a version number. Smaller fixes are grouped into the nearest release.

v0.9.0August 1, 2026Group play
new

Group play is now live for Adventurer (up to 4 players) and Guild (up to 8). The host creates a campaign and invites players by link. Each player can speak or type in turn.

new

Party panel now shows all active player characters with health, role, and active status, visible to the full table.

new

The game master now addresses individual party members by name when narrating their specific outcome.

improved

Campaign export now includes a full beat log with timestamps, in addition to the campaign summary.

improved

Voice narration latency reduced by approximately 300ms through improved streaming buffer handling.

fixed

Campaign record update sometimes dropped the newest quest thread entry. This is now reliable.

v0.8.2July 18, 2026Scene art and tone controls
new

Scene art generation is now live for Adventurer and Guild subscribers. A mood illustration is generated at each narrative beat.

new

Full tone controls (cozy, heroic, mysterious, swashbuckling, eerie) and intensity controls (gentle, standard, gritty) are now available to all plan levels. Free plan uses defaults.

new

Content controls page added at /care with a full explanation of what each setting does.

improved

The game master now applies tone shifts more consistently through long sessions, not just at the opening.

improved

The rolling campaign summary is now rewritten more conservatively, preserving named characters and locations that have not been mentioned recently.

fixed

Inventory sometimes showed duplicate items after a successful roll that granted a new item. Fixed.

fixed

Difficulty class display in the roll panel was off by one for some skill types. Corrected.

v0.7.0June 30, 2026Voice and memory foundations
new

Spoken narration via ElevenLabs is now the default. The game master narrates every beat in a characterful voice, with a text fallback if voice is unavailable.

new

Speech input: reply by voice in any browser with microphone support. The transcript is shown before submission so you can correct it.

new

Campaign memory: the party, inventory, location, and open quest threads are now saved and restored across sessions.

new

Server-side dice: rolls are now computed on the server and the full notation (result, modifier, DC) is shown in the roll panel before the narration.

new

Starting adventures: six hand-written adventures now appear on the shelf, each with a setting, tone, suggested party, and opening scene.

improved

The game master prompt is now model-agnostic. The storyteller can be upgraded without changing the memory format or rule system.
